Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China

About the Centre

The Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China is a research unit of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. The Centre was established in 2016 for the primary purpose of conducting academic research in areas of law and economy of modern day China, as well as publishing the resulting analyses and papers.

Activity of the Centre serves as the response to recent intensification of contacts between the Republic of Poland and the People’s Republic of China at all levels, i.e. European (such as “One Belt One Road” initiative), national (such as official meetings between Polish and Chinese authorities), local government (such as annual Regional Forum Poland-China), scientific (such annual Polish-Chinese Forum of Rectors) and business.

Scientific Research

We conduct research into law and economy of modern day China, aiming to internationalize Polish science and build up the recognition of its achievements abroad, particularly in China.

Business

We aim to create a contact point in Poland, being the source of information on the market, terms and conditions for pursuing business in China and the legal system of the People’s Republic of China.

Government

We coordinate the exchange of experience between the academic community, representatives of state and local administration circles and entrepreneurs.

Academic cooperation

We cultivate cooperation with several universities and research institutions in mainland China, expressed through academic exchange programs and research collaborations.

The members of the Centre are academics associated with the University of Warsaw, with background in law, economy and sinology.

e-Journal of Law and Economy of China

The e-Journal of Law and Economy of China is an Open Access (OA) e-journal published by the Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China (Warsaw University, Poland). As a newly established open debate platform, the journal is aimed at stimulating discussions on key aspects of China’s international rise, linking the law, economic and public policy perspectives. By bringing closer the researchers from the fields of law, economics, political economy and international relations, presenting different perspectives and methodologies, the journal offers an interdisciplinary approach to key China-related topics.
