Grants and programs

Welcome to Poland

About the grant

We are a proud beneficiary of “Welcome to Poland” grant, organised by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. Within its framework, we established a programme “Bridge to Asia – a gateway for academic staff and students from Asia” at the Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China at University of Warsaw.

The programme will be performed from December 2018 until October 2020. Its main objective is to encourage the process of internationalisation of University of Warsaw through increasing the competences of the University’s personnel, especially in the field of supporting international exchanges of students and academics from Asia. The project is of a highly innovative character within the University’s scope, as until now there have not been any comprehensive and coherent actions aimed at increasing the Polish-Asian mobility.

The programme is implemented as part of the project “Raising the competences of academic staff and the institution’s potential in accepting people from abroad – Welcome to Poland” under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development co-financed by the European Social Fund.

Providing access to scientific databases and publications in foreign languages concerning Asian issues, including China Lexis Nexis database (in English). This will enable students and academics an access to a variety of scholastic resources, which until now, have only been available in foreign European academic centres.

Short courses and lectures

The courses, led by experts from China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, Wuhan University and East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai, will be directed at the University’s personnel, as the programme of the course will especially include information on circumstances which Asian students pay attention to when choosing a foreign university, and on how to convince students from Asia to choose Poland as their study destination.

Polish-Asian Group Gatherings

All the experts on modern Asia will meet once every two months to discuss current Polish-Asian relations. For some of the meetings, the Centre will invite a keynote speaker – a person of a renowned academic authority.
