Researching China’s historical memory – Polish-Asian Gathering

Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China has an honour to invite you to the Polish-Asian Gathering at the University of Warsaw. This time we will focus on researching China’s historical memory.

The keynote speakers are:

– Markéta Bajgerová (ERC Project “Globalized Memorial Museums”, Austrian Academy of Sciences)
– Alicja Bachulska (GSSR, Polish Academy of Sciences)

Agenda:
18:00 – 18:20 – keynote speech by Markéta Bajgerová: “More than Silent Victims: Women’s Representation in Contemporary Chinese WWII Memorialisation”
18:00 -18:40 – keynote speeches by Alicja Bachulska: “Cultural trauma representations in public and private museums of post-1978 China: between propaganda, marketisation and alternative visions of the past?”
18:40 – 19:30 – open discussion between the keynote speakers and participants

The meeting will be held on Zoom and will be conducted in English.

“Polish-Asian Gatherings” is a series of meetings organized at the University of Warsaw. The aim of the meetings is to discuss current Polish-Asian relations. It will be a great chance for all the experts on modern Asia to virtually meet at one place – the University of Warsaw.
