On 12 April, Polish Research Centre for Law and Economy of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Centrum Studiów Polska-Azja hosted a joint conference at University of Warsaw, named “China-Europe-Poland: Economy and Globalization”.
The guests were greeted by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Poland, Mr Liu Guangyuan and Vice-rector of the University of Warsaw, Professor Maciej Duszczyk. Opening remarks were also made by the President of CASS, professor Xie Fuzhan and prof. Andrzej Kaźmierczak, member of the management board of the National Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski).
The conference consisted of two panel discussions: “Economy in China: what to expect in next years” and “New foreign investments law: new opportunities for Poland?”. Many renowned experts took part in both of them, including Mr Leszek Skiba, Undersecretary of State at Ministry of Finance, Mr Olaf Osica, Director of Foreign Markets project of European Economic Congress Katowice, Poland, or Ambassador Tadeusz Chomicki, former Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to PRC and South Korea.
We are very much humbled by the presence of so many participants. The comprehensive approach to the subject and the timeliness of the issues raised certainly contributed to a deep reflection on the Polish-Chinese economic relations.
